Versions for Windows clients
Grisoft sells a number of products from the AVG range, targeted at recent versions of Windows:
• The free edition, a freeware program which allows home users unlimited use and unlimited updates. It is not intended for commercial use.
• The professional edition, which allows all users (including businesses and institutions) 30 days trial. After this time a fee is required, which yields a key that unlocks the program for continued use.
• The soho edition, which includes AVG professional licences for several machines, intended for small organisations.
• The firewall edition, which adds a firewall to the professional version.
• The network edition, a lightweight, network-administrable version, intended for enterprises.
Grisoft also sell a package which includes the AVG professional edition and the Kerio personal firewall.

• File server version

Features
AVG features most of the common functions available in modern antivirus programs, including periodic scans, scans of sent and received emails ( including adding footers to the emails indicating this ), the ability to "heal" some virus-infected files, and a "virus vault" in which infected files are held.

Free edition
AVG's free edition has spearheaded the company's growth. Grisoft now claims over 20 million users have AVG antivirus protection, of which the majority use the free edition. Other full-featured free antivirus programs include avast!, AntiVir, and ClamAV/ClamWin.
The free edition has most of the features of the professional product. It lacks the fine-grained control over how scans are conducted, and it receives lower priority (than the paid-for products) when downloading updates from Grisoft's servers.
