Meet Boris your new Mail Order Bride . . .
Mail Order Bride – Scams
There are many ways to be scammed by a Mail Order Bride named Yuri/Boris as there are imaginative people. Don’t think you are smarter than everyone else or immune to being scammed. Your not. First, there is what I call incidential scams which are relative to the Mail Order Bride Business. Second, there is the out and out scam where Boris sits in a Moscow apartment writing hundreds of men, just like you, telling them how Natalia (his alter ego) love them but must go hospital.
Incidental Scams
If you are like most of us you will have made your initial contact with a Ukraine or Russian lady through one of the many Mail Order Bride websites such as http://anastasia.com or http://loveme.com but there are literally hundreds of them. For the most part it is academic which site you join (so pick one whose search engine you like) because many of these sites have the same girls pictures on their sites. The reason for this is while you are looking at the male side of the site there is also a female side of the site. She sees a website that tells her she can upload her picture and profile and get men interested in a Mail Order Bride writing to her with interest in marriage. It also tells her that to join the site and to post her profile and receive your letters translated into her native language will cost her absolutely nothing. How does this work?
When a lady decides to post her profile she goes to a marriage broker in her local town. These brokers have the technology to take her picture, take her video, obtain her profile, translate all this into English and upload it onto a Mail Order Bride website.
Once you write the lady using your USA website (where you are charged from $4.00 - $8.00 USD per letter) the letter is routed to one of these marriage brokers who translates the letter, notifies the lady, delivers the letter to the lady and gets her response. In exchange for these services the Marriage Broker makes a percentage of any letter you send to the lady, a percentage of any gift you send to the lady and any phone call or tour package you purchase in communicating with your lady.
Because of this monetary incentive the Mail Order Bride Website and the Marriage Broker want you to continue using their services as long as possible. It is that motivation which sometimes leads small translation differences to occur where the lady ask you to continue to write her using the agency because it is easier for her or to call her using the agency. The agencies also will not allow your email address or phone number to be given to the lady and if you try it will be stripped from your communication. Likewise, as to her communication to you. Similarly, the Mail Order Bride Marriage Broker has translators that are employees and work on commissions. Because of this their friends will sign up for the purpose of boosting the translators income. When you ask to write outside of the Mail Order Bride site these type of women fast loose interest. I even had one tell me (when I got my own translator) that writing outside of the site wasn’t going to work for her despite many, many letters professing her love to me and willingness to immigrate at the drop of a hat. However, the incidental scam here can be identified if you pay attention to the letters and what is said and not said. Is she professing her love a little to quickly, is she insistent that all communications go through the website, is she writing short letters that don’t really tell you anything about her but ask you to keep writing. These are all signs of incidental scam one.
Mail Order Bride incidental scam one can easily be avoided by writing only to women that are willing to write you outside of the website and have sent you everyday pictures by the fourth letter. (If you met them on a bulletin board instead of a Mail Order Bride website you should also have their telephone number and talked to them by the third letter). If I was still writing a lady using the Mail Order Bride website by letter four there was no letter five.
Another incidental scam is the lady whom you have talked to on the phone several times, emailed and visited in Russia or the Ukraine. You may have spent the night with her met her family and then given her some money only to never hear from her again. Now I recognize that there is a dispute as to whether you have been scammed in this scenario and my position would be you have not. I reach this conclusion assuming that the lady did not set out to scam you for the price of an airline ticket or scam you for the $200 she needed for this emergency or that emergency but sincerely needed the money and was sincerely unable or unwilling to pay you back. I would say you were ripped off but then many of us have had this same thing happen with stateside girlfriends who needed $50 to fix their cars and one week later the girlfriend drops you. It doesn’t have anything to do with whether she was Russian, American or Ukrainian but rather she was a girl. That is why I call this type of mail order bride scam an incidental scam.

Mail Order Bride with Bite – Fraudulent Scams
Boris is a professional. He makes his living off men trying to find Russian Girls on the Internet. He has one-hundred form emails telling you how much he loves you and pictures of 200 different girls he has gleaned off the Internet during the 10 years he has been scamming men looking for Mail Order Brides. Boris goes by the names Elena, Natalia, Irina or any other common East European name. Sometimes you can detect Boris by watching the email headers (discussed in a separate article on http://coltonindustries.com/Mail_Order_brides ) but his single goal is to get money from you. Here is an excerpt from series of email exchange between a Mail Order Bride Scam Hunter and Boris aka Natalia as shown on http://www.rwguide.com/:

Hi my love Bernie, how are you there? How is weather in there? Please do not worry about uncomfortable sending me money, I can understand you... you do not want to broke your heart, but right now I have not chance to call to you today or tomorrow, yes, some time ago I could call to you from cell phone of Svetlana but right now she traveled in other city to work... Please do not worry about me, I am honest with you and I shall not let you down - I promise! I have so many hopes and I am so happy because the God give me chance to meet with you, to see my destiny with you! I can call to you from Moscow, as soon as you will send finance I shall travel in Moscow and then call to you - I promise and I could hear your voice! Thank you for the number of phone! Is it cell phone? And I can call to you in any time? Bernie, yes I am nurse but not every nurse have fine salary and cell phone, you should understand about life in Russia, in my city... Some doctors have good salary such as surgeons, surgeons which do plastic operations on face, neuropathologists, the dentist... The nurse have small salary, but have so many work. I have dream to be doctor, maybe... Always, I have hopes for the best. I did not use Western Union too, but in bank spoke that it is not problem and I can receive finance from you in some hours after you sending money, do not worry about it. Many people in world to use this system. Yes, I can understand you about the system Western union, you never use it because you is not poor, but the money it is not important for me, the most important it is you and our meeting! Bernie, I have not bank account and it is hard for me to open bank account because my salary is small, the best way it is western Union... If you do not want to go in bank to search Western Union to send finance, you can send finance via internet Western Union online, are you know about it, I learned about it in bank. Also I have not camera to do photos right now, because camera had Svetlana and I write to you from internet-cafe of my city, if you have feelings for me and want to see our future - you should risk and send 600 dollars and when I shall be in Moscow I can call to you, it is all things what I can say to you, I really want to meet with you, please write me as soon as possible, ok? The Scam Hunter than corresponded offering to wire transfer money but refusing to send money Western Union. The Mail Order Bride Scammer – Boris then wrote;

Hi my Dear Bernie and future which want to share all your wealth with me! I can't understand you why you cannot use the system Western Union? if you rich man I am sure it is not problem for you, also I do not need 7500 dollars from you, it is big money for me, right now I need 600 dollars and when I shall be in Moscow I can call to you and talk about details of our meeting... I do not want to send copy of my passport because I should believe and trust you at first, if you will send some money via Western Union and I can know that you is serious with me and then I can send to you copy of my passport, if you want to send finance and open bank account for me you can do it for me in Moscow but at first you should send 600 dollars by Western Union. Tell me how you can open bank account without me? It is not possible, I am sure! Maybe are you play with me? can you send me your photos? Because you sent me just one photo of you and how I can believe for you and send copy of my passport? We should be honest with you and do not have play with each other - are you agree with me? Bernie, yes, I know about Mercedes-Benz and this care is very expensive... do you want to buy for me it? I cannot believe for it? I am sorry, this car cost approximately 50.000-80.000 dollars, it is big money! I am not interesting to be happy with so many money, I don't like rich life, I need the man which can love me and be happy with me and the money in the second part. Write me what are you think and what we will do? If are you ready to send finance via Western Union and trust and believe for me - write me, but if you will not send finance via Western Union you should not write me more, I don't like lie and play... This Mail Order Bride Scam hunter eventually “busted” Boris and lured him into the following confession:

Hi Bernie, how are you? Yes, I am Boris and I like to do make money from internet, it is my Business bread to live in poor Russia... how you want to learn me to have more money from internet? Also why you want to help me to learn me? I am interesting... Boris from Russia (Moscow).
Conclusion
Unless you are very lucky you will meet Boris, Yuri or Ivan sometime in your online quest for a Mail Order Bride - wife. He may come as a lonely Ukraine model or a Russian Doctor but Boris can be neutralized with one rule. NEVER, EVER SEND A MAIL ORDER BRIDE MONEY! No matter how desperate her situation sounds and no matter how much you think you love her. If you suspect a Mail Order Bride scam by someone you are writing than stop writing.
