Are You Taking All The Vitamins Your Body Needs?

By Peter Salazar
Minerals play an important role in our body, and the basic fact is that we do not get enough of it from food alone. The nutritional content of food is not the same today as it was 10-20 years ago—it has become much less due to inappropriate farming methods, soil erosion, etc. Additionally, it has been said that our bodies can only absorb 5% of the minerals found in food. Because of these factors, our bodies have become deficient in minerals—one of the symptoms being constant hunger. But before we go into that, let’s take a brief look first at some basic facts about minerals. Essential Minerals Basically, there are 16 minerals that are recognized as essential to our health. The body requires minerals in small amounts, and they can be toxic when taken in excess. “The Committee on Dietary Allowances of the National Academy of Sciences has established a Recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA) for the major minerals calcium, phosphorus, and magnesium, and for the best-known trace minerals iron, zinc, iodine, and selenium. Estimated Minimum Requirements have been established for sodium, potassium, and chloride.1” Aside from this, there is an Estimated Safe and Adequate Daily Dietary Intake (ESADDI) for other essential minerals like fluoride, chromium, copper, manganese, and molybdenum. As of the moment, minerals such as arsenic, nickel, silicon, and boron are established as essential to animals, but there aren’t enough studies which prove that it is essential to humans. In addition, there also aren’t enough clinical data which demonstrate that cadmium, cobalt, lead, lithium, tin, and vanadium are needed by the body. So what do we do about the lack of minerals in our body? This is where the 75 Colloidal Minerals come in. 75 Colloidal Minerals: The History It all started in the year 1925, when an ailing Utah cattle rancher named Thomas Jefferson Clark was told by Chief Soaring Eagle, a Paiute medicine man and elder about a spring that has healing powers. This legendary spring was said to be used by local natives who have known about its healing abilities for years. Soon after Clark drank from this magic spring, he was miraculously cured of his ailment. So he followed the spring into the mountains to find at its source a deposit of minerals: organic-rich shales. In the year 1931, Clark then created his own tonic abundant in colloidal minerals by extracting these minerals from the spring. People who tried his miraculous tonic experienced amazing results. Because of this, the legend of the 75 Colloidal Minerals was born. Colloidal Minerals Colloidal Minerals are “extra-small mineral particles suspended in a solution, and they are being promoted as a cure for acne, anemia, brittle nails, birth defects, cancer, constipation, depression, diabetes, goiter, graying hair, hair loss, hyperactivity, impotence, infertility, memory loss, PMS, and wrinkles.2” The 75 colloidal mineral supplements supposedly have a negative charge that increases the body’s absorption of the minerals. In addition, toxins are said to be attracted to this negative charge, after which it is flushed out of the body. The 75 minerals that are contained in the colloidal mineral supplements include the following: Ag, Al, As, Au, B, Ba, Be, Bi, Br, C, Ca, Cd, Ce, Cl, Co, Cr, Cs, Dy, Er, Eu, F, Fe, Ga, Gd, Ge, H, Hf, Hg, Ho, I, In, Ir, K, La, Li, Lu, Mg, Mn, Mo, N, Na, Nb, Nd, Ni, O, Os, P, Pb, Pd, Pr, Pt, Re, Rh, Ru, S, Sb, Sc, Se, Si, Sm, Sn, Sr, Ta, Tb, Te, Th, Ti, Tl, Tm, V, W, Y, Yb, Zn, and Zr.
